This may or may not be the most offensive thing I’ll ever write to some people.
Recently I had the opportunity to shoot (video tape) a local TV show called voices in which there is a host and two people that are discussing a hot topic. This day two men happened to be discussing the war in Iraq and whether or not we support the troops. Both men (one liberal green party member and one conservative dude) had differing opinions but both claimed to support the troops. They both had good arguments and made some good points about both sides of the war. While I consider myself very liberal to the point of socialism I’m usually pretty open to the other side if they have something good to say. On this day trying to be totally objective while filming I listened to both sides.
Of course the dude on the conservative side ranted and raved about how you can’t support the troops and not support the mission and how all the veterans came up to him and thanked him for supporting the troops bla bla bla…
Then the liberal green party dude told me how I can still support the troops and not support the war, which I was totally like “hell yeah dude”.
You can totally support the troops and not support the war right? After all, I have friends in the military but I FUCKING HATE GEORGE BUSH! Doesn’t that count for something?
After this, and for awhile now, I look at all the news reports of soldiers dying over there and it sucks really bad. Then I look at people dying all over the world and it sucks too. Right? Of course it does, after all one of our jobs is to stop people from dying all over the world isn’t it? Fuck me if it’s not, that’s what I thought.
I fucking hate it when I see on the news everyday when U.S. Soldiers die in the line of duty. That shit sucks. Some dude that just graduated high school going to fight for what he thinks is a good cause, or maybe just like my friends, going to get school paid for and a better life, that’s respectable too right? They fucking die, and for what? WHAT?
They die for a cause that can’t be stopped. Should I support the troops? Should I be against the war? Can I do both???? FUCK??? Bush blocks fucking everything that isn’t “continue with my fucking war!!!”
Anyways, after watching these two douche bags argue back and fourth about supporting troops or not I figured it out……the fucking conservative dude is right.
You really can’t support the troops while not supporting what they are doing. Afterall, who goes to a baseball game and roots for a certain player but then hopes his team loses? For the first time in my life I was thinking like a republican.
Then I thought for a minute, I really don’t support the war, so the only option for me is….
I DON”T SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!!!
That’s right, it’s all clear to me now, WHY WOULD I SUPPORT ANYONE WHO’S JOB IS IT TO ENFORCE DEMOCRACY AND PEACE THROUGH THE BARREL OF A FUCKING GUN!!!!

The basic theme here is killing is dumb, no matter who’s flag you do it under. Nationality is something which would really have to be proved to me to be believed in.
